This is the world's largest tennis museum, and it hosts a variety of tennis memorabilia and historical references. The Newport Casino building, where the museum is located, was built in 1880 for the U.S. National Lawn Tennis Championships (U.S. Open), which was held here between 1881 and 1915.

Contained in the museum is a collection of historical items from Newport's past. Items include ceramics, drawings, lithographs, needlework, paintings, portraits and much more. Musical instruments can also be found. Walking tours are provided by the Historical Society.
